National weather report:Dense fog in over 10 states for 2nd consecutive day; rain, snow likely in J&K, Ladakh; temperature to rise in northwest

The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog alert for 14 states in the country on Sunday. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

In the next five days, the temperature in all North-West states including Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan may increase by 2 to 3 degrees. The minimum temperature in Ganganagar, Rajasthan was recorded at 6.1 degrees, the lowest in the plains.

The department has predicted fog in Delhi on Sunday. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures may remain around 24 and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Rajasthan’s weather is shifting once again, with light clouds and weak sunlight causing a drop in daytime temperatures across the state. A slight chill was felt throughout the day yesterday. The Jaipur Meteorological Centre has predicted that from February 3rd, a western disturbance will bring light rain and thunderstorms in some areas, including Jaipur, Ajmer, Bikaner, and Bharatpur divisions.

In the last 24 hours, many cities, including Jaipur, Sikar, and Alwar, saw light clouds and a cool breeze, intensifying the chill. Chittorgarh recorded the highest temperature at 29.2°C, while cities like Sikar and Jaisalmer experienced lower maximum temperatures. Mornings and evenings are getting colder, with several cities dipping into single digits. The lowest recorded temperature was in Mount Abu at 6°C.

The Meteorological Centre has forecasted a further temperature drop today, with more clouds and possible rain over the weekend.
