Nashik: A five-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being crushed by an SUV in the parking lot of a hotel near Pathardi Phata on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway, police reported on Friday.
Incident Details
The child was with his father, a professional driver, who had transported customers to the hotel. As they arrived, the child stepped out of the vehicle and began playing in the parking lot. While running behind his father, he was struck by an approaching black SUV.
CCTV Footage Captures Tragic Moment
Despite the father’s desperate attempts to stop his child, the impact proved fatal. The entire incident was recorded on the hotel’s CCTV cameras.
The injured child was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by his father and the hotel’s security guards, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Police Investigation Launched
Following the accident, Indiranagar police reached the scene and began an investigation. A case has been registered against the SUV driver under Sections 106, 125A, and 125B of the BNS, along with relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage and conducting further inquiries.
