IITian Baba Trolled for Wrong Prediction on India vs Pakistan Match, Issues Apology

Abhay Singh, widely known as ‘IITian Baba’, found himself at the center of social media backlash after his incorrect prediction about India’s match against Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025.

As India secured a dominant victory, fans erupted in celebration, with Virat Kohli’s match-winning century stealing the spotlight. However, amid the excitement, Abhay Singh’s name started trending—but for all the wrong reasons.

Internet Roasts IITian Baba Over Failed Prediction

Abhay Singh, an IIT Mumbai aerospace engineer-turned-sadhu, gained popularity during the Mahakumbh. In a recent podcast, he confidently declared that India had no chance of winning against Pakistan.

His exact words were:
“Iss bar India nahi jeetegi. Virat Kohli aur sabko bol do ki jeet ke dikha dein. Maine bola nahi jeetegi India toh nahi jeetegi.”
(“India will not win this time. Tell Virat Kohli and his team to try their best, but they won’t win. If I say they won’t win, they won’t.”)

However, as Kohli led India to an easy victory, fans flooded social media mocking IITian Baba, calling out his overconfidence and flawed prophecy.

Baba’s Apology After the Trolling

Realizing the intensity of the backlash, Abhay Singh issued an apology, saying:
“Mujhe mann hi mann lag raha tha ki India jeet sakti hai, par maine prediction kuch aur kiya tha. Galti ho gayi.”
(“Deep down, I felt that India could win, but my prediction was different. I made a mistake.”)

Despite the apology, memes and jokes continued to pour in, with fans joking that even astrologers should think twice before doubting Virat Kohli.
